FAQ

How do you make your candles?

Every Glassell Candle Co candle is made with wax from naturally, domestically grown soy beans, non-toxic fragrance oils, and a natural cotton wick for a clean, long-lasting and even burn. Every candle is hand-poured and allowed to cure for several days prior to packaging and shipping.

What length should I keep my wick?

We strongly recommend trimming your wick to 1/4" before lighting your candle each time. This keeps the candle from smoking and producing a large flame. Be sure to remove the trimmed wick from the candle to prevent it catching fire.

How long should I burn my candle?

During the first burn, let it burn long enough to allow the melted wax on the surface to reach the edge of the jar. This may take 2-4 hours depending on the size of the candle. After the first burn, we recommend burning your candle for no longer than 4 hours at a time for maximum quality and longevity.

Why did my candle tunnel?

The most common reason for tunneling is the candle not burning long enough during the first burn. Tunneling happens when a candle burns only down its center, around the wick, leaving hard wax around the outside. The first time you light and burn your new candle is very important. Our biggest recommendation for the first burn is to make sure that the pool of melted wax reaches the edges of your candle before you snuff the flame.

Can I reuse the candle jar?

Absolutely! Use warm water and soap to clean out the jar, then reuse as you please.
